Bij hoge nood gezocht....

.... EETLAVENDEL! Iemand?

Still plenty of time....

I'm not sure what it is, but this year I can't seem to be getting in the Christmas mood. So far, I've only put up our stockings. I can't be bothered about setting up the tree, I keep putting off fetching the boxes with decorations from the basement, I'm basically full of excuses... "There is still plenty of time".... Honestly, if the tree is up by midday on the 24th, that's just perfect, no? That leaves us with a few hours to put the gifts under it, allow the kids to get their selection in the evening and then we can take it down again on the 25th - or I am wrong? I am spoiling things slightly for my girls? And know what? I don't even have to put the tree up myself. My nanny has been begging me since mid November when she can please, please, please put up the tree. She luurrvvves to decorate the house, so what's stopping me? I don't know.... Or maybe I do: I need to move some toy boxes and I just don't know where to put them. I need time to think about that... So let me do that now, let me think about where to put the toyboxes and get this tree up before the weekend.... Or early next week.... Or.....

Was there anything I didn't forget today?

It was one of these days. It starts straight after you get out of bed in the morning and it lasts until you go back to bed in the evening. I forgot to charge my BlackBerry, I also forgot my charging cable so half the world tried to call me and I was non-communicado. I did have a lovely quiet day at the office. I forgot to put the meat for tonight out of the freezer, I am blessed however that my nanny is of the creative type, she will not let my children starve, so we had Chicken Boy grilled chicken tonight. Hmmmm, I ought to forget to put the meat out more often (or at least on Thursdays). I also forgot I had asked the nanny to pick up both my girls so when I arrived at K's place to pick up my youngest, she gave me a frown. One of those "should you really be a mother"-frown. And just now, I realised that I also forgot to buy toiletpaper.... There's 6 of us in this househould.... Need I say more? Thank God for tissues and a kind neighbour! At least I did not forget about my early resolution to post something on my blog! One must set one's priorities right....

Check them out!

Yes, it's me! Again! Just to let you know that you need to check out C Jane's blog (for you Anglo-readers) and that you need to check out Door een Roze Bril (for the Flemish readers). Why? C Jane rocks! I love her writing style, she obviously has a Hollywood star lifestyle (Courtney, me soooo jealous!), she taught me one or two things about how family sticks together no matter what and she has The Chief! And Door een Roze Bril is a must for any mother with 2 young girls. Look at those cheeky little monkeys and you just know what the blog is about. It's totally my life, apart from the being organised enough to decorate rooms in the house, cooking with my 2 girls, getting out there and run and keeping a blog up to date. Oh well, I noticed they have new posts, so have to go :-)!

Dear blog,

how I have neglected you over the past few months. I sincerely apologise. I have been told off just last weekend by one of my "fans" :-0 Which made feel a) guilty because indeed I haven't posted anything for ages and b) surprised that someone actually did check back every now and again to read all the boring things I write. Anyhow, early new years resolution: I will post regularly on my blog. Obviously, since my life is about as exciting as watching grass grow, you might find this a complete waste of time. Both for me actually spending time on writing a post and for you spending time on reading the blog. But hey, at least then we're even! :-) So, this may be a slow start, I don't want to overdo it from day one. Do come back for more. How about tomorrow? And the day after? I will happily entertain you (glass of wine, little snack, soft music)...
